Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Equipment Engineering Lead to spearhead our equipment engineering team and ensure world-class capability in ATE tester and handler operations. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, focusing on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement in semiconductor test operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop an equipment engineering team to ensure technical competency in ATE tester and pick and place handler setup, alignment, troubleshooting and integration with different tester platforms
  • Facilitate continuous knowledge enhancement through vendor updates, technical workshops, and structured training programs
  • Establish and maintain robust SOPs, documentation standards, and escalation protocols to ensure transparent communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Develop and implement a structured preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration program to ensure equipment reliability, accuracy, and compliance with operational specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise on change kit design, including selection of pogo pin types, required stacking height, acceptable FAP tolerances, and other relevant specifications
  • Execute complex equipment diagnostics, design evaluations, and root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment reliability and process improvement
  • Interface with cross-functional teams (QA, Process, Production, and Engineering) as well as customers and suppliers to resolve equipment-related and quality-critical issues
  • Attend technical review meetings with customers, providing accurate updates, addressing calibration concerns, and driving issue resolution with urgency and technical clarity
  • Set clear technical expectations and benchmarks for team members. Apply performance management strategies to foster excellence and address underperformance constructively
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in equipment availability, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), cost efficiency, process capability (Cp/Cpk), and OEE metrics
  • Define and cascade clear KPIs and performance objectives to the equipment team while conducting continuous improvement actions to ensure alignment with business results

Qualification

  • Proficient in pick-and-place handler platforms specifically from Seiko Epson, JHT, Hontech and Delta Matrix
  • Proficient in turret handlers specifically from Existech and SRM
  • Working knowledge of ATE tester platforms specifically from Teradyne and Advantest V93k, including basic interfacing, handler communication protocols, and system diagnostics
